Well, last night's results were not in my favor. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. I just want to say that I truly could not have made it through this campaign without the hard work of so many people. All the volunteers who block-walked, made calls, organized events, wrote postcards, studied voter data, donated money, watched my kids, cooked us dinner so I didn't have to focus on that on busy nights--I'm so grateful for your help. A very big thank you to my husband and my kids for being so supportive and so patient. I am so proud of everything we have done over the last year, and I honestly do feel like this is a winning campaign because so many people got involved, and Texas elections are forever changed because of the Texas Ethics Commission ruling on campaign funds and childcare.

I want to encourage anyone who has ever even had the slightest consideration of running for office to DO IT. Or encourage one of your friends to do it. Or join a campaign, go to a city council or county commissioners meeting, join your local political party, register to vote and encourage everyone you know to vote. Don’t let being new to politics hold you back. The only way to bring change and hold our elected officials accountable is to force them to keep their promises and do their jobs.

Thank you all so much for everything. This has been an incredible experience!

Elections

Your Constitutional Right

Wichita County should go above and beyobsto try to increase voter turnout. We should do more than just facilitate the election centers; we should encourage people in the county to learn more about the issues that affect them and exercise their constitutional right to vote.
